Ovarian Cyst

An ovarian cyst is a fluid-filled cyst or sac in or on the ovary. Women have two ovaries on each side of the uterus (almond-sized and almond-shaped, respectively). The eggs that develop and mature in the ovaries are released in a monthly cycle during childbirth.

However, ovarian cysts, especially those that rupture, can cause serious symptoms. To protect your health, have regular pelvic exams to learn about symptoms that may indicate potentially serious problems.
